Anxiety and Hypnotherapy
Anxiety is essential to life: it is our evolutionary "fight or flight" response to a stressful or dangerous situations. It creates adrenaline which makes us more alert and speeds up our processing functions so we can think and act more quickly.
Anxiety becomes excessive if we stay on high alert – in “flight or fight” mode – with more frequency or severity with no obvious trigger.
Symptoms include flashbacks, fear, IBS, panic attacks, scattered thinking, depression, intrusive thoughts and nightmares. Anxiety might manifest as discomfort in social situations, low self esteem and imposter syndrome (the feeling that you don't deserve the success you have).
Hypnotherapy is very effective in treating anxiety disorders as it reduces your stress response and replaces it with a relaxation response.
